How do I prove I am an independent person for residency if I am under 24 years old?
Answer
You can provide one of the following documents when completing your application:
- Florida PrePaid ID card
- Proof of marriage; marriage license issued by the County Clerk’s Office or federal tax return that shows the student filed as a married person.
- Proof of military service; DD-214, Leave Earning Statement (LES), or current active-duty military orders.
- Proof of annual earnings in the amount of $9,300 in taxable income, which could include; federal tax return, W2, or most recent paystub from an employer that shows Year-to-Date (YTD) earnings.
- Proof of being a ward and/or dependent of the court, such as a Department of Children and Families form CF-FSP 5220 available from the student’s DCF caseworker.
- Florida Student Homelessness verification form (FSH-1) completed during an interview with the Admissions Contact assigned to the student’s application.
